Katherine Heigl: Pitbull Lover

Just like many of her fellow celebrities, Katherine Heigl is a dog lover. And last night (September 2), she couldn’t keep her hands off a passing pitbull pup.
Looking like she’d had a few too many while out with her friends, the “Grey’s Anatomy” babe was very enthusiastic as she coddled the pooch, much to the delight of its owner
In a recent interview, Katherine delved out some love advice for those who are single and looking - and it’s all about not being desperate.
“Never try too hard. I had enough of an ego and enough self-worth that I wouldn’t pursue any guy who didn’t really show interest. I wasn’t going to put myself in that position. It’s a little too self-deprecating. I felt in that case I should move on and find someone else who was more interested. Any time you try too hard to get someone’s attention, it lessens your value. And all us girls should value ourselves.”

She’s always willing to go the extra mile to help others, and over the weekend Katherine Heigl showed up at the 2008 Hot in Hollywood event to lend her celebrity to a good cause.

The “Grey’s Anatomy” hottie looked nothing short of amazing as she showed up at The Avalon in Hollywood sporting a gold and charcoal colored dress with matching heels and a fabulous curled coif.

The Hot in Hollywood benefit raises money for charities dedicated to the education, prevention, testing, and treatment of the HIV virus and AIDS.

The AIDS Healthcare Foundation takes some of the money raised to fund an HIV Mobile Prevention and Testing Unit, a jazzed-up camper that travels throughout LA County to help the marginalized population treat and prevent HIV/AIDS.
