Selena Gomez Launches Trick-or-Treat Campaign

Following a morning stop at The Early Show, Selena Gomez continued along with her busy schedule by heading over to Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York City on Thursday (October 23).

The “Wizards of Waverly Place” starlet joined up with students of P.S. 3 to attend the launch of Unicef’s 2008 Trick-or-Treat campaign.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Miss Gomez’s presence comes after she was recently appointed as a spokesperson for UNICEF’s effort to help children in need.

Of her position, Selena told press, “I am extremely excited to be this year’s Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF spokesperson. I want to help encourage other kids to make a difference in the world and show them that Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is such a great, fun way to get involved.”

Christina Aguilera Readies for Middle East Debut

Getting geared up for her big concert tomorrow night (October 24), Christina Aguilera will be making her live Middle East debut at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

In advance of the show, the “Dirrty” songstress held a press conference earlier today - saying that she was looking forward to exploring the city while visiting.

“I am only here a few days but I plan to have a few nice dinners and possibly see what the night life has in store for us,” she said.

“The city is really building up. There are great places to eat, great night life as well as beaches. It seems to have everything to offer,” Aguilera adds.

According to press reports, Christina “is expected to perform in front of an audience of 20,000. The concert will be the biggest-budget music production the country has ever seen with a 14-piece backing band, a light show and a fireworks display.”

Britney Spears: Still Very Fragile, Says Lawyer

While she’s been spending much of her time focusing on comeback efforts, Britney Spears is doing her best to spend as much time as possible with her two young sons. And the “Gimme More” singer was spotted out paying Sean Preston and Jayden James a visit at their school in Los Angeles earlier today (October 23).

Shielded by a big black umbrella, Miss Spears offered up a glare to paparazzi hiding in the bushes before getting behind her umbrella cover and heading to a chauffeured ride.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, the 26-year-old pop tart is fresh off of the good news that a judge has dismissed criminal counts against her in regards to her case for failure to provide a valid California driver’s license.

And though she came out victorious, Britney’s lawyer Michael Flanagan recently revealed that his client is still struggling with building herself back up.

Flanagan recalled how Spears told him: “I can’t face all those people. I don’t want to deal with all the people.” He adds, “She is not very strong. She is still very fragile. I had to explain things to her.”

Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise: Central Park Playdate

Enjoying an afternoon of bonding time, Katie Holmes was spotted out for a walk with daughter Suri Cruise in Central Park on Thursday (October 23).

The mother/daughter duo was accompanied by a security staffer as they wandered about the park’s grounds, with Suri splitting time between her mom’s arms and up on her feet.

During their afternoon outing, Katie and Suri also stopped by a children’s Halloween picnic, with Suri showing off her brand new haircut to her fellow picnic peers.

As for Katie, she’s currently in the midst of her “All My Sons” gig - with the show slated to run through January 2009.

Michael Jackson Steps Out for Skincare

Spotted out for the first time in quite awhile now, Michael Jackson visited a cosmetic and medical dermatology office in Beverly Hills, California on Thursday (October 23).

Afterwards, the “King of Pop” proceeded to make a very public stop at a cosmetics boutique on the trendy Robertson Blvd in Los Angeles.

According to a source on the scene, “Jackson browsed through some skin-care products and picked up a package of Epicuren Discovery, an enzyme and propolis based spa product.”

After picking up his skincare needs, the typically reclusive “Man In the Mirror” singer waved at the cameras and smiled for his adoring fans before jumping in the car and driving away.
