It’s been a rough year for Britney Spears, but things are looking like they’re on the up and up. And come September 7th, she may be walking away from the MTV Video Music Awards with a Moonman.
But in order to do that, she’ll have to beat out the teen dreamhunks the Jonas Brothers, who are also nominated for the show’s most coveted title Video of the Year.
Spears’ “Piece of Me” will go head to head with the JoBros’ “Burnin’ Up,” Chris Brown’s “Forever,” the Ting Tings’ “Shut Up and Let Me Go,” and the Pussycat Dolls’ “When I Grow Up.”
Though it won’t be a huge shock if Brit comes up empty-handed- she’s been nominated a total of 16 times without a single win. And hey, it can’t be as bad as last year, when the troubled singer gave a critically-bashed performance of “Gimme More.”
