Anne Hathaway: Moving On from Raffaello?

Taking a break from her busy life, Anne Hathaway was spotted roaming around the Soho district of Manhattan yesterday (September 9) with a mystery man.

The “Princess Diaries” babe flirted with her male companion as they strolled around the Big Apple, stopping off at a newsstand to check out the latest tabloid headlines.

Regarding her split from ex-boyfriend Raffaello Follieri back in June, Anne recently told press the whole ordeal was made even worse by its poor timing.

She revealed, “As soon as I found out about the arrest, I had to get on a plane to Mexico to do a press tour for Get Smart. And then I spent a week in shock at a friend’s house.”

As it turns out, Hathaway’s friends were the key to her coping. “It’s a situation where the rug was pulled out from under me all of a sudden. But just as suddenly, my friends threw another rug back under me. One said, ‘Go stay at my house.’”

Anne Hathaway Promotes “Rachel Getting Married”

She arrived in Italy for the big film festival on Tuesday, and earlier today (September 3) Anne Hathaway was spotted taking a water taxi to the Westin Excelsior hotel for the 2008 Venice Film Festival.

The 25-year-old “Princess Diaries” actress was then helped ashore as she readies for the premiere of her new movie, “Rachel Getting Married”.

In the film, which is competing at the festival for the festival’s prestigious Golden Lion Award, Anne plays “a young woman who has been in and out from rehab for the past 10 years returns home for the weekend for her sister’s wedding.”

Rosemarie DeWitt and Mather Zickel are among Anne’s co-stars in the Jonathan Demme directed drama, which has a release date of April 2, 2009.

Anne Hathaway’s Diaries Taken By the FBI

In celebrity legal news, Anne Hathaway’s private diaries were confiscated by the FBI earlier this week.

The Devil Wears Prada cutie’s diaries were taken as a part of an ongoing investigation of wire fraud, conspiracy and money laundering against her ex boyfriend Raffaello Follieri.

Press reports say personal photos of the couple, along with other documents and items including a Tiffany clock and an antique Bible, were also taken by the FBI.

According to the United States Attorney’s Office, Follieri misappropriated “hundreds of thousands of dollars in investor money to live a luxurious lifestyle, including expensive restaurants and clothes; dog walking services; an apartment in Manhattan that leased for approximately $37,000 per month; medical expenses for his girlfriend at the time and his parents, including a ‘house call’ by Follieri’s physician, which cost $30,000.”

Follieri was previously arrested in April for allegedly writing a $215,000 bad check.

Miss Hathaway broke it off with Follieri just days before he was arrested at the end of June. She has not been implicated in any of his alleged crimes.
