She’s had one of the most controversial hits in recent memory, and Katy Perry claims that her song “I Kissed a Girl” comes from true-life experience.
At a 2008 MTV Video Music Awards pre-party last Saturday, Miss Perry told FOX Pop Tarts’ Hollie McKay, “I really did kiss a girl. It was one of those frat-type songs that was just fun. I don’t think people got the wrong idea — every girl kisses their friend at some point, right?”
And though she gave a crowd-pleasing performance of Madonna’s “Like a Virgin” as well has her own girl-kissing hit, Katy walked away from Sunday’s VMAs empty-handed.
Since her VMA appearance, Perry has been plenty busy. Last night she was spotted at the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party and this morning she showed up at the Radio 1 studios.
