In celebrity family news, Rebecca Romijn and her actor hubby Jerry O’Connell just announced that they’re expecting twins this winter.
The babies will be the first children for the pair, with a source close to O’Connell telling press that “he couldn’t be happier about becoming a dad” while responding to a question asking how the “Kangaroo Jack” star felt about double diaper duty .
Romijn and O’Connell met at a party in 2004 and were engaged to be married a year later. They were married in July 2007 at an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles.
When asked the secret to their happy marriage, O’Connell tells press: “We have a lot of fun together. I really enjoy being with her. I think Rebecca really enjoys being with me.”
The couple had announced earlier in the month that they were trying to have children. O’Connell had even joked that the conception process had been “a lot fun for me,” adding that they go at it “at least a few days a month!”
So what’s next for these parents-to-be in the working world? O’Connell will star in the new Fox sitcom Do Not Disturb (premiering this fall). Romijn will star in the drama Lake City (due in November) and will return for a handful of episodes of ABC’s Ugly Betty in the fall.
When asked if they would ever be interested in working together ,the pair jokes: “Yeah, but we are so afraid of that Gigli effect! You can’t really go there anymore. It’s over. It’s done.”
