Brandy Sued For Wrongful Death

Regardless of whether or not she’s charged with vehicular manslaughter, Brandy will soon be making her way to the courtroom. The singer-actress has been sued for negligence and wrongful death by the husband of the waitress killed in a freeway crash involving the entertainer.

According to CBS reports, “Marouane Hdidou filed the lawsuit Wednesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. He seeks unspecified damages. His wife, Awatef Aboudihaj, 38, of Los Angeles, died on Dec. 30 in a crash on the San Diego Freeway.”

In case you’re behind on what happened, while driving her Land Rover, Brandy failed to slow in traffic and was going 65 mph when she struck the back of a Honda driven by Aboudihaj.

California Highway Patrol reports note that “Aboudihaj’s Honda hit another vehicle, slid sideways and struck a center divider, then was hit by a car driven by 50-year-old Mallory Ham of Simi Valley.”

Brandy, 28, is also being sued by Aboudihaj’s parents and her two children - with each having already filed separate lawsuits

Meanwhile, the city attorney’s office is still deciding whether to charge Brandy with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, spokesman Frank Mateljan told The ShowBuzz. If charged and convicted, she could face up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine.
