Selena Gomez Launches Trick-or-Treat Campaign

Following a morning stop at The Early Show, Selena Gomez continued along with her busy schedule by heading over to Dylan’s Candy Bar in New York City on Thursday (October 23).

The “Wizards of Waverly Place” starlet joined up with students of P.S. 3 to attend the launch of Unicef’s 2008 Trick-or-Treat campaign.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Miss Gomez’s presence comes after she was recently appointed as a spokesperson for UNICEF’s effort to help children in need.

Of her position, Selena told press, “I am extremely excited to be this year’s Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF spokesperson. I want to help encourage other kids to make a difference in the world and show them that Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF is such a great, fun way to get involved.”

Christina Aguilera Readies for Middle East Debut

Getting geared up for her big concert tomorrow night (October 24), Christina Aguilera will be making her live Middle East debut at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi.

In advance of the show, the “Dirrty” songstress held a press conference earlier today - saying that she was looking forward to exploring the city while visiting.

“I am only here a few days but I plan to have a few nice dinners and possibly see what the night life has in store for us,” she said.

“The city is really building up. There are great places to eat, great night life as well as beaches. It seems to have everything to offer,” Aguilera adds.

According to press reports, Christina “is expected to perform in front of an audience of 20,000. The concert will be the biggest-budget music production the country has ever seen with a 14-piece backing band, a light show and a fireworks display.”

Britney Spears: Still Very Fragile, Says Lawyer

While she’s been spending much of her time focusing on comeback efforts, Britney Spears is doing her best to spend as much time as possible with her two young sons. And the “Gimme More” singer was spotted out paying Sean Preston and Jayden James a visit at their school in Los Angeles earlier today (October 23).

Shielded by a big black umbrella, Miss Spears offered up a glare to paparazzi hiding in the bushes before getting behind her umbrella cover and heading to a chauffeured ride.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, the 26-year-old pop tart is fresh off of the good news that a judge has dismissed criminal counts against her in regards to her case for failure to provide a valid California driver’s license.

And though she came out victorious, Britney’s lawyer Michael Flanagan recently revealed that his client is still struggling with building herself back up.

Flanagan recalled how Spears told him: “I can’t face all those people. I don’t want to deal with all the people.” He adds, “She is not very strong. She is still very fragile. I had to explain things to her.”

Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise: Central Park Playdate

Enjoying an afternoon of bonding time, Katie Holmes was spotted out for a walk with daughter Suri Cruise in Central Park on Thursday (October 23).

The mother/daughter duo was accompanied by a security staffer as they wandered about the park’s grounds, with Suri splitting time between her mom’s arms and up on her feet.

During their afternoon outing, Katie and Suri also stopped by a children’s Halloween picnic, with Suri showing off her brand new haircut to her fellow picnic peers.

As for Katie, she’s currently in the midst of her “All My Sons” gig - with the show slated to run through January 2009.

Michael Jackson Steps Out for Skincare

Spotted out for the first time in quite awhile now, Michael Jackson visited a cosmetic and medical dermatology office in Beverly Hills, California on Thursday (October 23).

Afterwards, the “King of Pop” proceeded to make a very public stop at a cosmetics boutique on the trendy Robertson Blvd in Los Angeles.

According to a source on the scene, “Jackson browsed through some skin-care products and picked up a package of Epicuren Discovery, an enzyme and propolis based spa product.”

After picking up his skincare needs, the typically reclusive “Man In the Mirror” singer waved at the cameras and smiled for his adoring fans before jumping in the car and driving away.

Nicole Richie: Out in Beverly Hills

Venturing out and about on what was a sunny October afternoon, Nicole Richie was spotted making her way around Beverly Hills on Thursday (October 23).

Carrying a box of animal crackers and a bagged meal, the former “Simple Life” starlet and her gal pal picked up lunch to-go from Nate N’ Al’s restaurant.

Afterwards, Miss Richie proceeded to pay a visit to her new agent’s office - hoping to give her career a kick-start following her recent appearance on “Chuck”.

As for the home life with baby Harlow, Nicole recently told press, “Parenthood is easier than I thought. Everybody was saying, before giving birth, sleep now because you’ll never sleep with a baby but she sleeps 12 hours a day and I’m sleeping, too. She’s the sweetest little angel.”

Gwyneth Paltrow: Flying with Apple and Moses

Flying in from London following the BFI Film Festival screening of her new movie “Two Lovers,” Gwyneth Paltrow was spotted arriving at JFK airport in New York City on Thursday (October 23).

Tagging along for the trip were her two young children, Moses and Apple Martin, with Gwyn dragging Moses along by the arm as they made their way through the terminal.

The trip to the Big Apple comes shortly after Gwyneth’s good pal Madonna, who has been staying in NYC during her Stateside tour breaks, announced her divorce from Guy Ritchie.

At the premiere of “Two Lovers,” Paltrow told press: “She’s (Madonna) a very good friend. I’m supporting her in all the ways that I can. I’m just there for her. I speak to her a lot.”

Kim Kardashian’s Post-Birthday Shopping Spree

Just turned 28-years-old earlier this week, Kim Kardashian went on a post-birthday shopping spree at the MAC Cosmetics store in Beverly Hills on Thursday (October 23).

Accompanied by her sister, Kourtney, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” starlet smiled while combing the racks, enjoying a breather from trips to the hospital to be with boyfriend Reggie Bush.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Kim spent her birthday bedside with her New Orleans Saints running back beau, as he underwent knee surgery for an injury that occurred on the field.

Keeping her fans up to date on her blog, Kim just recently wrote, “I’ve had a long week with Reggie in the hospital and you have no idea how much your birthday wishes really made my birthday!!! I appreciate you all so much, so please understand it has been a long past few days… Reggie and I have had to fly to Alabama and to New Orleans and have made multiple doctors’ appointments!”

Coming in as good news, Miss Kardashian told press after the surgery, “He is recovering great and will be back on the field soon.”

Toting her Mac laptop in-hand, the 19-year-old Disney star made her way outside to an awaiting limo, reportedly on her way to Warner Brothers Studios for a meeting.

Meanwhile, throughout her HSM3 press duties, Miss Hudgens has been asked how she’s been dealing with her sudden stardom, replying, “It’s been crazy. Every time I go to a premiere I just get butterflies in my stomach because it’s such an extraordinary thing to be a part of. It seems no matter where we go, everyone is genuinely excited. In Spain, they would wait outside the garages and chase our cars as we left. But I still get a normal life. I’m not dressed up all the time, and I still go grocery shopping and everything.”

When asked of her future plans following life as a “High School Musical” star, Vanessa replied, “I am looking for things I can grow with. I’m not looking to separate myself from Gabriella because she is an amazing role model—it’s always nice to play the smart girl. But I do want to play different roles. The “Womanizer” singer and a few helping hands toted Sean Preston and Jayden James to Mr Bones Pumpkin patch - with the group scouring the grounds for the perfect pumpkin to take home.

Meanwhile, it seems as if Britney is quite the influence when it comes to baby names - as expert Laura Wattenberg tells that “Jayden James has launched the name Jayden to the second most popular baby name for boys in New York City.”

Making an impact with her own name as well, Wattenberg adds, “Britney Spears seems to have shifted the standard spelling. That name used to be spelled every which way, but now the ‘y’ spelling has become dominant.”

Justin Timberlake Hosts “Last Chance For Change” Rally

Always the sexy couple, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel attended the “Last Chance for Change” Rally and Canvass Kickoff, held at the Clark County Amphitheater in Las Vegas on Saturday (October 11).

While on stage, Justin told the crowd, “This is not my usual stage—and I’m a little nervous. This is the first time in my life that I am endorsing a political candidate. I’m not here as a musician or an actor or that guy that writes songs. I’m not here as a Democrat or a Republican. I’m here as an American.”

The “Sexy Back” singer continued, “I’m not here to tell you what to think but I urge you to think. I’m supporting Barack Obama because I’m inspired by him, by his voice, his intellect, his leadership and his judgement.”

Shenae Grimes: Chateau Weekend

Enjoying the weekend weather, Shenae Grimes visited the Chateau Marmont on Sunset Boulevard on Saturday afternoon (October 11).

In a blog entry responding to criticism, she wrote, “I happened to be very small built, and I’ve always been skinny. So I personally think that people need to stop criticizing everyone in the media these days about their issues. I’m sure you wouldn’t like it if someone pointed out all of your flaws and all of your mistakes.”

Meanwhile, Jamie Lynn’s babydaddy Casey Aldridge was spotted nearby in Liberty, Mississippi to wash his special edition Ford F250 truck, then picking up some fast food.

And it seems as if rumors of a second baby-on-the-way stemming from a National Enquirer report have no validity at all.

“I was with Lynne [Spears] all day today and she thinks it’s totally ridiculous,” a source told FOX Pop Tarts. “I can tell you that the pregnancy rumor is just that — a rumor. There is no truth to it at all.”

Out for a charitable evening, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon attended the 13th Annual Andre Agassi Foundation’s Grand Slam for Children benefit concert at the Wynn Las Vegas on Saturday night (October 11).

Looking sexy in a sleeved black ensemble complete with a butterfly tattoo on her back, Mimi hammed it up on the red carpet alongside her actor/singer hubby.

Also in attendance was the evening’s host, tennis great Andre Agassi, along with his wife Steffi Graf. Musicians Sheryl Crow and Charice Pempengco also made the trip to Sin City in support of the good cause.

Founded in 1994, Agassi’s foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of at-risk children through its support of recreational and education programs.

Looking very much like the picture perfect celebrity family, Christina Aguilera was spotted at LAX yesterday (October 10) along with her husband Jordan Bratman and son Max Liron.

The “Ain’t No Other Man” songstress and her two favorite guys were on their way to London, where she’ll be performing at next week’s This Day Music and Fashion Festival.

Aguilera will be joining Seal on the Africa Rising grand finale bill, set to take place next Tuesday, October 14th at the Royal Albert Hall.

The show is designed to raise awareness for African issues by finding “sustainable solutions” rather than by simply identifying the problems facing the continent.

Vanessa Hudgens Visits Tonight Show

The cast of “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” just wrapped up a European promotional tour. And now that she’s back in the States, Vanessa Hudgens has already begun her publicity duties.

The “Identified” babe was looking fit and fine during her trip to “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” as she began her assault on the American press.

Miss Hudgens turned heads in a leggy black crisscrossed shoulder strap dress teamed with a pair of strappy black heels.

In a recent interview, Vanessa revealed that though this may be the last HSM film she and boyfriend Zac Efron do together, they’re still open to co-starring in other films. “No one says it’s the last time. Who knows what the future will bring?”

Katie Homes: Friday Night at Work

While many of her fellow celebrities were out and about last night, hitting up swanky restaurants and cool clubs, Katie Holmes was spotted going to work.

The paparazzi caught up with the “Dawson’s Creek” darling as she arrived at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre for her performance of “All My Sons.”

And Katie looked like she meant business, sporting a see-through purple short-sleeved sweater overtop a black bra with slim fit jeans, purple and black striped socks, and black shoes.

When “All My Sons” holds its grand opening night next week (Thursday, October 16th), it seems Holmes will be once again greeted by members of the anti-Scientology group Anonymous. During the preview performance opening, members of the group donned “V for Vendetta” masks and held up signs that read “Scientology Kills” and “Free Katie, Keep Tom.”

Hilary Duff Glams Up 4th Annual GLSEN Awards

Taking time out of her busy schedule to support a good cause, Hilary Duff was spotted hamming it up on the red carpet at the 4th Annual GLSEN Respect Awards.

And Miss Duff looked lovely as she posed for the paparazzi, sporting a sleeveless pink blouse teamed with a black belted high-waisted skirt and matching black heels.

But Hilary’s relationship with GLSEN (the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network) goes far beyond just attending events- she actually puts her money where her mouth in.

Teaming up with comedian Wanda Sykes, the “War, Inc.” babe appears in a new national Public Service Announcement campaign that encourages the “lazy-lipped to lay off the inadvertent trash talk which is homophobic, dehumanizing, and nothing-but-damaging to the collective sould of the human race.”

Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen: A Day Apart

Completing an afternoon full of errand-running, Rachel Bilson was spotted on her way out of Gelson’s supermarket, carrying bags of groceries.

The “Last Kiss” cutie wore a white scoopneck henley top teamed with a pair of distressed cuffed jeans, black shoes, and sunglasses.

Meanwhile, Rachel’s boyfriend Hayden Christensen was hard at work on the set for a Lacoste Men’s Cologne and Clothing commercial for French Television.

Strapped into a harness and suspended in mid-air, the spot was based on Hayden and Rachel’s film “Jumper.”

Jennifer Lopez: Low-Key Shopper

Managing to keep a bit of a low profile, Jennifer Lopez was spotted out shopping at Curve boutique along Robertson Boulevard in Beverly Hills on Friday (October 10).

While most of the paparazzi were a few doors down at The Ivy shooting Eva Longoria and Sheryl Crow during a lunch outing, J Lo was able to spend an hour in the store without too much of a hassle.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the popular singer/actress has quickly denied reports that Lopez suffered a nervous breakdown in 2002.

Press reports tell that “reporter Kevin Sessums was commissioned by Elle magazine to profile Lopez, but the publication dropped his initial interview in favor of a more flattering piece amid complaints from her reps that the interview got much too personal.”

In his interview, which was subsequently picked up by a new Web site after being rejected by Elle, Sessums quotes Jennifer as saying: “I did cry a lot (after the babies were born) because I was having so much trouble moving. I had a C-section. I couldn’t get up fast enough to feed the babies. It went on for about three days. Marc was helping out a lot and I was crying and crying and going, ‘Oh, Papi, they’re going to know everybody more than me. ... They’re going to love everybody more than me!’”

Mandy Moore Rocks 11th Annual Fresh Faces in Fashion

Earlier this week she was spotted arriving at LAX International Airport, and last night Mandy Moore was all about checking out the 11th Annual Fresh Faces in Fashion event.

The “Rumor Has It” actress arrived at the Peterson Automotive Museum looking absolutely gorgeous in a chocolate colored short sleeved dress teamed with a pair of matching vintage-style heels.

Mandy’s return to the West Coast comes after some time spent in New York City “to do some writing, see some friends and a few shows,” according her Celebrity MySpace blog.

And now that she’s back in Los Angeles, she plans on hitting the recording studio and “diving into a few other new projects.”

AnnaLynne McCord Hosts Planet Funk Party
